do you wonder what this is all about?

This past Sunday I had the One Stone Women’s Collective down to Southside Bethlehem.  Why, you ask?  Well a few postings back I mentioned the series of events I am coordinating with the theme being the Evolving Archetype.  Part of that series is 8 female artists out of NY are doing art installations in Southside storefronts.  Essentially what March is to me is a female visual art takeover all in the honor of Women’s History month.

So the One Stone Collective have organized their exhibition to be titled “These Role(s) We Wear.”  The proposals I received ranged from the duality within all of us, to the balancing act of life, to role women have played in war, to the pivotal necessity of the matriarch.  I absolutely adore the range of ideas that have come forth and the many forms they are taking far removed from how I would approach subject and such.  This is such food for thought to watch their  research unfold to concepts and now seeing visuals as they start to inhabit space.

Sunday was a day examining space needs, introducing ourselves to store owners, and assessing the flow of the unique exhibition.  But quite honestly, it wasn’t all business… it was also pumpkin pancakes with maple walnut butter at Blue Sky, decadent coffee, and a special presentation of St. Christopher to me by the group.

Ok so when I say special, it really was me closing my eyes to have this effigy appear before me when they were opened.  Well, St. Christopher now holds a prominent place in my studio so the next time you are there, you’ll have to pay homage
