(this picture was a mistake but i really like it)

First off… I left the computer room last night and I was thrilled to see the Australian 20somethings were out playing again!  Last night was a selection of Prince, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley (SUN SESSIONS- right on!!).  I have been singing the Bob Dylan song every since… here´s to me hoping they are out again tonight.  And when I really think about it´s probably good they have only started playing this last week because it would cut into my café con leche/ horchata fund if it was the whole time.

Well, it´s my last few days in Zaragoza and I´m in the studio wrapping things up… or at least trying too!  I have to admit that I am struggling a bit because I´m afraid I have one too many tangents but I´ll be heading back there tonight to get a handle on things.  I spent the morning and early afternoon building in sugar and am hoping it is structurally sound enough when I return to build a bit more.  Working with sugar is never quick!

I am happy to report I have located a drill so now I can finish the wall piece that has sat there for the past week.  Happy day!

But the big news today is that I had a lovely visit to Rakel´s studio.  It is a few blocks from mine and just petite and charming.  It is a bi-level place which I can only imagine being fantastic when one needs a break from a piece but wants to work on something else with peace of mind.  Her father built her the sweetest steps in which the railings are in the shape of trees.  It´s painted a rich red and has a built in easle that her father also built for her.  She is an independant woman who makes her living off of paintings for interior design but her serious paintings are quite prolific.  I really enjoyed seeing all of her influences, how she processes and how she develops ideas.  I´m a big fan!  It also turns out she loves music and a wide range of things.  She was playing Dead Can Dance while I was there which I really haven´t listened to since after I left Tyler.  It makes me miss my old and dear friend, Jess, who ironically emailed me this morning.

Rakel and I then went out for a beer and she showed me where to get drill bits for the drill that she loaned me.  It´s all coming together bit by bit (a phrase Sergio uses alot).

You Ain´t Goin´ Nowhere (the bob dylan song i´ve been singing)

Clouds so swift
Rain won’t lift
Gate won’t close
Railings froze
Get your mind off wintertime
You ain’t goin’ nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow’s the day
My bride’s gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!

I don’t care
How many letters they sent
Morning came and morning went
Pick up your money
And pack up your tent
You ain’t goin’ nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow’s the day
My bride’s gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!

Buy me a flute
And a gun that shoots
Tailgates and substitutes
Strap yourself
To the tree with roots
You ain’t goin’ nowhere
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow’s the day
My bride’s gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!

Genghis Khan
He could not keep
All his kings
Supplied with sleep
We’ll climb that hill no matter how steep
When we get up to it
Whoo-ee! Ride me high
Tomorrow’s the day
My bride’s gonna come
Oh, oh, are we gonna fly
Down in the easy chair!
